Gravis Ultrasound a.k.a GUS was my first wavetable synthesis soundcard. This card has had it's popularity among multimedia computer geeks because it was the only one at the time which did not have any sound samples stored in ROM. Also this sound card could be used as a MIDI triggered sampler, since each loaded sound could be asigned to a MIDI channel.
